The Mental Health Research Institute of Victoria's mission is to further knowledge in mental health, behaviour and neuroscience. Researchers work to investigate the nature, origins and causes of psychiatric diseases and apply the knowledge they gain to improve diagnosis, treatment and, ultimately, prevent mental illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia. The Victorian Psychiatric Research Database is being established in order to provide a single source of information for all Mental Health Workers about the psychiatric research projects and programs within our state. The use of the database will facilitate collaboration between clinicians, recruit researchers into psychiatric research, and improve patient access. |
